Shunt is a collective of 10 diverse artists who have been working together for over 7years to explore the 'live event'. The company works largely site specifically incorporating theatre, dance, visual art, sound, video & circus and the shows often have an experiential quality which is part of an ongoing examination of the role of an audience. The company, whose previous home was under a railway arch in Bethnal Green, have been occupying their current premises in London Bridge for the last 2 years. The Shunt Vaults is a 70,000 sq.ft labyrinth of archways that has been a bonded wine vault for the last 100 years. After the success of last year's 'Tropicana', Shunt are currently performing their new show 'Amato Saltone' within this space until the end of March 2006 when the company will begin to create a succession of new works.

Over the next 12 months the company intends to carry on with it's research and development as well as creating a number of smaller works within the vaults. The company encourages different collaborations amongst it's core and associate artists and this work can take many different forms.....look out for Superthriller who are about to release their second album and toured with Beck last year. The band, started by a shunt member Andrew and regular sound collaborators Max & Ben Ringham, now includes half the company.
